Starter Service Kit

Reference: SK-1001 Gavron PM Engineering

The Starter Service Kit is a pre-assembled set of replacement components for routine maintenance on centrifugal pumps and rotary compressors in the 5–75 kW range. It covers the most common wear points that cause unplanned downtime in manufacturing lines.

Each kit includes a matched set of radial ball bearings (6204 and 6205 series), a mechanical seal with silicon carbide faces and EPDM elastomer, a set of shaft retaining rings, and a tube of anti-seize compound for mounting. The components are selected for metric shafts with a tolerance of h6 and housings with a K6 fit, which covers the majority of standard pump casings used in food processing, water treatment, and light chemical plants.

The kit is arranged in a single partitioned box with a label on each compartment, so a technician can verify the contents before starting the job. A printed checklist on the lid lists the torque values for the gland bolts and the recommended orientation of the seal drive pins. This removes the guesswork during reassembly and reduces the risk of installing a seal backwards.

What makes this kit different from buying parts individually is the matched pairing. The bearings and seal are selected to work together at the same operating temperature range (−20°C to +120°C) and the same shaft speed envelope. If you order the same components separately, you may end up with a seal rated for a different pressure class than the bearing cage can handle at sustained load.

For maintenance teams that service multiple pump models, the kit also includes a compatibility card listing the pump manufacturers and model numbers that share these dimensions. This lets a planner stock one kit for several machines instead of maintaining separate part numbers for each unit.

To request a kit for your specific pump model, send the nameplate data — manufacturer, model, shaft diameter, and impeller size — to info@gavronpm.com. The engineering desk will confirm the match and provide the ordering reference.
